Japanese 18-year-old Anri Kawamura won her second straight freestyle skiing moguls World Cup event of the season Friday, earning her fifth career victory.

Kawamura showed good turns and pace to come out on top with 82.25 points, narrowly beating Beijing Olympics gold medalist Jakara Anthony of Australia, who scored 81.88 to finish second. American Jaelin Kauf was third.

“I’m really happy. I’ve worked really hard on the things I need to improve and it’s bearing fruit,” said Kawamura, who has made the podium in five of six events so far this season.

“I could attack until the end. I’m getting closer to perfecting my jumps.”

In the men’s competition, Japan’s Ikuma Horishima came third on 81.36, finishing behind Beijing Games silver medalist Mikael Kingsbury of Canada, who won with 85.37, and Sweden’s Walter Wallberg, who scored 81.69 in second place.
