The meetings of the General Committees, held as part of the 32nd Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Porto, Portugal, culminated today.
The resolution of the General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment, chaired by Azay Guliyev, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation, entitled “Commemorating 50 Years of the Helsinki Final Act: Responding to a New Reality in the OSCE,” was adopted with an appropriate amendment.
The three-day committee meetings discussed and adopted six additional draft resolutions on various issues.
On July 2, elections were held for the executives of the General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment, with Azay Guliyev, a member of the Milli Majlis, unanimously re-elected as Chair of the Committee.
Ukrainian delegate Artur Gerasimov was elected as Deputy Chair of the Committee, while Portuguese delegate Paula Cardosa was elected as the Rapporteur.
Azay Guliyev has previously been elected to various positions in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
