Azerbaijan’s AREA Director meets with CEO of Pakistan’s Central Power Purchasing Agency

As part of his visit to Pakistan, Director of Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan (AREA) Javid Abdullayev has met with Chief Executive Officer of the country’s Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) Rihan Akhtar.
AREA Director Javid Abdullayev highlighted the reforms implemented in Azerbaijan in the field of energy, cooperation with international energy companies on green energy projects as well as the events held for the implementation of the “Agreement on strategic partnership in the field of green energy development and transmission between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary and Romania.”
CPPA CEO Rihan Akhtar said that his country is in the transition stage to the liberal market model, providing insight into the working mechanisms of the single buyer model and the existing information systems.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to continue discussions and exchange of ideas at the level of experts.
