Japan on Sunday reported 190,538 new coronavirus cases, down 48,116 from Saturday. Tokyo reported 15,124 new cases, down 4,506 from Saturday.
The number of infected people hospitalized with severe symptoms in Tokyo was 54, down one from Saturday, health officials said. The nationwide figure was 671, up three from Saturday.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths reported nationwide was 407.
