A round table dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the National Defense University on the topic “The impact of processes arising in the region on the national security of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, the Ministry of Defense told AJMEDIA.
The event was attended by the leadership of the National Defense University, MPs, representatives of the Center of Analysis of International Relations, and other visitors.
First, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as well as victims, who lost their lives as a result of the earthquake in fraternal Türkiye, was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
Then a film about the life and activity of the National Leader was demonstrated.
Speaking at the event, Rector of the National Defense University, Lieutenant General Heydar Piriyev emphasized that the architect and founder of the modern Azerbaijan, the Great Leader, has done great and irreplaceable work for the independence and development of the state, left a rich heritage for the present and future of the country.
It was stated with confidence that under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor of the political course of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan has achieved great success which is to be continued.
Lieutenant General Heydar Piriyev noted that the main goal is to prepare professional personnel who will undertake the defense of the country, its independence, and statehood based on the tasks defined by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the tasks set by Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.
Other speakers at the round table shared their views on the topic and talked about the creation of the modern world order, as well as the significance of the policy of the state in strengthening Azerbaijan’s position in this matter.
