Azerbaijani scientists visited “The Research and Development Laboratory of Nanomaterials”, Kraków, Poland within the DETMED project of the European Commission

Afag Madadzade, a senior researcher at the Nuclear Research Department of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development, and Gadir Ahmadov, head of the department (also a researcher at the Institute of Radiation Problems) visited the Research and Development Laboratory of Nanomaterials in Kraków, Poland, as part of the European Commission’s DETMED project, titled “New Detector Concept for Medical Gamma Probe”. During the visit, the parts and materials of the detector planned to be developed under the 3rd work package of the DETMED project with Polish scientists were simulated using the FLUKA simulation program and the materials to be used were determined. It should be noted that these prototypes designed for the medical gamma probe will be used to accurately localize and identify malignant tumors of unknown origin, potentially enhancing medical diagnostic capabilities.
