Ombudsman’s Office representative highlights Azerbaijan’s tolerance and multicultural values at OSCE Meeting in Vienna

The Austrian city of Vienna hosted the OSCE Third Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting on 2–3 June 2025.

Cavidan Qorchiyev, Head of the Unit on Ensuring the Right to Equality, Human Rights Protection Department at the Ombudsman’s Office, attended the meeting on human rights and equality.

The event brought together government officials from various countries, representatives of non-governmental organizations, and national human rights institutions.

In his remarks, the representative of the Ombudsman’s Office emphasized that Azerbaijan has historically been distinguished by its traditions of tolerance and multicultural values, which continue to be preserved and promoted today.

He also provided insight into the reforms undertaken in Azerbaijan to protect human rights and freedoms, as well as the existing legal framework that guarantees equality and prohibits discrimination, and the Ombudsman’s mandate in this area.

The meeting proceeded with a mutual exchange of views and discussions.
