Academician Rasim Aliguliyev, Director General of the Institute of Information Technology under the Ministry of Science and Education and Vice-President of ANAS, met with Lise Fuhr, Chief Executive Officer of GEANT, on the sidelines of the organization’s General Assembly meeting.
The meeting focused on continuing and expanding strategic cooperation between GEANT and the Institute of Information Technology. Discussions included further integration of the “AzScienceNet” network infrastructure with European research and education networks, optimizing the use of GEANT’s services, and implementing joint projects.
The parties also discussed plans to hold an international conference in October 2025 on the current state, capabilities, and future prospects of the “AzScienceNet” network. The importance of active participation by GEANT representatives in this event was emphasized.
During the meeting, Academician Rasim Aliguliyev was presented with a certificate by GEANT confirming the official membership status of the “AzScienceNet” network for 2025.
