Ahliman Ganjiyev’s lawyer reports violence against his client in Yekaterinburg

Tokyo, 29 June, /AJMEDIA/

The lawyer representing Ahliman Ganjiyev, who was detained in Yekaterinburg, told journalists that his client was subjected to violence both during his detention and while in custody. According to the lawyer, Ganjiyev was tortured using electric shock devices and other heavy objects, resulting in injuries that required a period of hospitalization.

Despite the prosecution’s request for a detention measure, the defense is working to ensure that justice is served. The lawyer stated that Ganjiyev rejects the charges against him and maintains his innocence despite the pressures applied.

The lawyer also revealed that the defense only learned of Ganjiyev’s detention on Friday, but for two days his whereabouts remained unknown. Police stations and investigative detention facilities repeatedly denied holding him. It was only on Saturday evening that it was confirmed Ganjiyev was being held in an investigative detention facility.

The lawyer expressed serious concern for Ganjiyev’s health, noting that he can barely move and was unable to sit during the court hearing due to severe pain.

“I am seriously worried about his life and health. I will try to spend as much time as possible with him in the detention facility to prevent further acts of violence against him,” the lawyer said.

It should be noted that the court has imposed a 3-day detention measure on Ahliman Ganjiyev.
