Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss opportunities for expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, on the sidelines of the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held in Khankendi.

The meeting focused on the current state of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan strategic partnership and the potential for expanding both bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The ministers noted that high-level reciprocal visits and a robust political dialogue between the two countries have played a crucial role in advancing bilateral relations to a new stage and strengthening collaboration.

The foreign ministers emphasized the importance of fostering economic ties and enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy security, transport, and other promising areas.

They also discussed regional developments, challenges, and opportunities, highlighting that Azerbaijan and Pakistan consistently support each other’s legitimate interests in both regional and bilateral contexts. The parties expressed confidence in the continued growth of mutually beneficial cooperation for the prosperity of both nations and their peoples.

The ministers also exchanged views on initiatives under Pakistan’s Presidency of the UN Security Council for July.

The meeting further addressed other bilateral and international issues of mutual concern.
