Azerbaijan, Pakistan explore prospects for military cooperation

As part of his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the country’s Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir.

During the meeting, the sides explored the prospects for bilateral defense and military cooperation, as well as cooperation between the two countries’ institutions specializing in the field of defense industry.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits and close contacts for maintaining military and technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and fraternal Pakistan.

The two stressed the significance of bilateral and trilateral military exercises in the Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Pakistan format in order to increase the efficiency of mutual activity between the two countries’ Armed Forces, as well as the exchange of experience between the relevant types of troops.

FM Bayramov informed the Pakistani Chief of Army Staff about the peace agenda and the process of normalization of the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the recent agreements reached in the process of the return of four villages of Azerbaijan and the delimitation of a certain part of the border.

The parties also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
