Azerbaijani scientist: After the Patriotic War, our diaspora has new goals

A meeting was held with members of the Azerbaijani community living in Tokyo, Japan.
The meeting started with the playing of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Japan.
Then the memory of our martyrs who died in the struggle for the freedom, territorial integrity and independence of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.
The ambassador of our country to Japan, Gursel Ismayilzadeh, who gave an opening speech at the meeting, said that the coming together of the Azerbaijani community living in this country is a remarkable event.
He noted that both the state committee and the embassy are always ready to listen to our compatriots and answer their questions.
Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Japan Friendship Center, world-famous Azerbaijani scientist Khalil Kalantar stressed that the Azerbaijani diaspora has new goals after the Patriotic War, and this meeting is an important step towards achieving those goals.
Fuad Muradov, the chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, gave detailed information about our country’s diaspora policy, implemented large-scale projects, including coordination councils, Azerbaijan houses, weekend Azerbaijani schools, summer camps for diaspora youth, specialized forums organized by the committee in foreign countries.
Recalling President Ilham Aliyev’s recommendations to our compatriots living abroad at the V (Victory) Congress of World Azerbaijanis held in Shusha, the chairman of the committee drew attention to the fact that Azerbaijanis of the world, including our community in Japan, remain loyal to the ideology of Azerbaijaniism and actively participate in the promotion of Azerbaijani truths.
Later, letters of thanks were presented to Khalil Kalantar and Minara Shukurova for their services in diaspora activities.
The meeting ended with answering the questions of community members and exchanging ideas about future plans.
