The Embassy of Uzbekistan presented a stand at an exhibition dedicated to Central Asia held in the city of Tokorozawa City on March 12th, showcasing the cultural and touristic potential of our country.
Timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Central Asia and Japan, the exposition was organized by Kadokawa Publishing House in cooperation with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassies of the Central Asian countries.
The event ran from February 23 to March 21 as part of an exhibition of the famous Japanese “mangaka” (Japanese word for a person who draws comics) Kaoru Mori from the series of works “The Story of a Young Bride”, which tells about the rich culture and values of the peoples of Central Asia.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan presented a stand that familiarized the participants with the culture and touristic potential of our country.
In addition, the Japanese companies Japan Trading, TOKU, Kinuya, and Misty Caravan organized a stand where traditional crafts of our region and national dishes of Uzbek cuisine were widely demonstrated.
According to the organizers, the national stand of Uzbekistan made a special impression on the participants with its attractiveness. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, about 5 thousand guests from different cities of Japan. At the same time, they noted that the interest of the Japanese public in Uzbekistan has increased, which, in their opinion, will significantly increase the flow of tourists to our country.
Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Taro Honda also visited the exhibition. He got acquainted with the national stand of Uzbekistan and shared his opinion on the current development of Uzbek-Japanese relations.
In particular, the Deputy Foreign Minister noted that this January marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Uzbekistan. He expressed his wish to further develop the friendly relations between the two countries, as well as to make every effort to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
