He emphasized the importance of full adherence to international humanitarian law, particularly the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms of the population and the preservation of the region’s demographic structure.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister praised the continued attention given to the issue within the framework of the OIC, especially by the Contact Group.
He also highlighted the significance of a swift resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue for ensuring long-term stability and security in South Asia, noting Azerbaijan’s concern over recent tensions in the region.
Minister Bayramov welcomed the ceasefire agreement announced between India and Pakistan on May 10 of this year and expressed hope that this step would lay the groundwork for sustained dialogue and the normalization of relations between the two countries.
