German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is planning to visit Japan in late April, a Japanese government source said Saturday.
It will be Sholz’s first visit since taking office in December last year. He will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida possibly on April 28, according to the source.
Germany is now the rotating chair of the Group of Seven major developed countries, with the war in Ukraine and how to manage China’s rise likely top the agenda of their meeting.
