The victory in the 44-day second Karabakh war has seriously increased interest in Azerbaijan in the Arab world, Lebanese human rights activist, expert on foreign policy and international law Tariq Shandib said, AJMEDIA reports.

He noted that Azerbaijan’s liberation of its ancestral lands from the occupation of Armenia and its glorious victory played a big role in making Azerbaijan talked about in the Arab world.

“After the victory in Karabakh, a new and different view of Azerbaijan has been formed in the Arab world as a whole. This victory pleased both the Azerbaijani people and the Arabs, who consider this country a part of the Islamic world,” Shandib said.

He pointed out that the Arabs want to have a broader and deeper knowledge of the historical traditions and culture of Azerbaijan.

According to Shandib, the fact that Azerbaijan is a brother, political and military ally of Türkiye is also welcomed in the Arab world.

“It is very important for Azerbaijan to develop ties with Arab countries as well,” he added.

The Lebanese human rights activist also noted that Azerbaijan has deep traditions of statehood, making a serious contribution to the Islamic world.

“The development of relations with Arab states undoubtedly serves the interests of everyone,” he said.
