Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, according to the Japanese government.
The meeting is expected to take place on the sidelines of the gathering of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Thailand, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said Monday in a news conference.
If realized, it would be the first summit between the political leaders of Japan and China since December 2019.
