Moroccan journalists drop by Azerbaijan’s liberated territories

A group of Moroccan journalists have visited the cities of Aghdam, Shusha, and Asgaran settlements of the Karabakh economic region within the framework of the visit to Azerbaijan, the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora of Azerbaijan said, AJMEDIA reports.

The delegation first toured the ruins of Panah Ali Khan’s Imarat complex, Juma Mosque, and Aghdam State Drama Theater in Aghdam city, witnessing the vandalism committed by Armenians. The guests were provided with detailed information about the destruction of historical monuments and the restoration and reconstruction work carried out following the General Plan of Aghdam.

Then, the delegation headed to Asgaran, inspected the mass grave discovered there, and took pictures.

Starting from the central square of Shusha city, the guests toured the monuments of famous cultural figures of Azerbaijan – Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibayli, and visited Ashagi Govhar Agha mosque, Shusha fortress, and the Jidir Plain.

The Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Shusha District Aydin Karimov met with guests at the district’s Executive Power building.

He provided detailed information about the history of this ancient city, the acts of vandalism it endured during the years of occupation, and the ongoing efforts in restoration and reconstruction.
The official emphasized that the 12th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World, held in Doha, declared Azerbaijan’s cultural capital, Shusha, as the “cultural capital of the Islamic world” for 2024.

Following that, questions from the Moroccan journalists were answered.
