“The data and statistical indicators presented on the future of energy systems are particularly noteworthy,” said Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Climate Issues, in an interview with AZERTAC on the sidelines of the 9th OPEC International Seminar in Vienna.
“OPEC possesses a highly comprehensive statistical database, encompassing extensive data and trends on past investments, production and consumption indicators, logistics, and forward-looking projects,” Babayev noted.
He emphasized that the seminar brought together representatives from many leading energy-producing countries, making it a valuable platform for understanding general approaches to the future of energy production and consumption.
Babayev pointed out that several countries have already adopted net-zero and decarbonization programs, with a particular focus on green energy. “Various perspectives and prospects related to green hydrogen and other alternative energy projects, as well as their logistical possibilities, are being discussed here,” he said.
He also highlighted the presence of both COP29 and COP30 teams at the seminar. A high-level panel discussion titled “From COP29 to COP30” will be held on July 10 as part of the event, featuring an interactive agenda.
