Anar Aliyev, Azerbaijan`s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, met with Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
During the meeting, Anar Aliyev highlighted the social reforms implemented in the country in recent years, the progress made to strengthen social protection measures and ensure citizen welfare.
He emphasized the importance of the 82nd session of UNESCAP, which Azerbaijan will host next year, in terms of fostering regional and global dialogue, promoting social inclusion and protecting the rights of the elderly population.
Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana hailed the progress made in the field of social and economic development in Azerbaijan, and the long-term collaboration between Azerbaijan and UNESCAP in this area.
The meeting featured the preparations for the 82nd session of UNESCAP Commission and the upcoming cooperation.
