The Cultural Center of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Paris hosted a presentation of books published by the “IRS” Publishing House. Co-organized by Azerbaijan’s Embassy in France and the France-Azerbaijan Dialogue Association (ADFA), with support from “PASHA Life Insurance” JSC, the event showcased Azerbaijan’s cultural legacy.
Ambassador Leyla Abdullayeva highlighted the “IRS” Publishing House’s role in promoting Azerbaijan’s history, culture, and heritage. She noted that these books offer a deep dive into Azerbaijan’s ancient and vibrant past, fostering greater understanding among French audiences. As one of the first nations to recognize Azerbaijan’s independence, France provides a fitting stage for this initiative, she added.
Musa Marjanli, Editor-in-Chief of “IRS” Publishing House, detailed the history of the “IRS” magazine and its publishing ventures. Launched 25 years ago and published in 20 languages, the magazine, backed by “PASHA Holding,” expanded into books. These visually stunning publications, rich in aesthetic appeal, present Azerbaijan’s history, culture, and heritage to global readers. Marjanli invited attendees to explore more titles via the “IRS” online portal.
Already showcased across Europe, these books illuminate Azerbaijan’s integral role in world civilization. Marjanli also introduced It’s Time to Gather Stones, a book documenting Western Azerbaijan (modern-day Armenia) as an ancestral Azerbaijani homeland. Supported by photographic and documentary evidence, it chronicles the destruction of cultural, religious, and architectural monuments, including those in Yerevan, once part of the “Yerevan Khanate.” He deplored the deliberate erasure of Azerbaijani heritage, noting that Armenians have systematically destroyed toponyms and monuments proving Azerbaijanis’ indigenous status.
Niyaz Ismailov, Chairman of “PASHA Life Insurance” JSC, expressed “PASHA Holding’s” pride in supporting the project. He emphasized its mission to promote Azerbaijan’s heritage and realities globally. The books’ detailed portrayal of Azerbaijan’s regions offers readers an immersive experience. Ismailov affirmed continued support for publications exposing the devastation of Karabakh during its occupation and for future works.
The event concluded with a cultural performance.
