Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov has participated in the plenary session of the 3rd Eurasian Congress in Sochi, Russia, as a guest.
Addressing the plenary meeting, Azerbaijani PM noted that against the backdrop of the challenges that humanity is facing at the current stage, including climate change, global warming, disruption of supply chain logistics, rising costs of production resources and transport, the need to ensure food security has reached an unprecedented level for all countries of the world.
The Azerbaijani PM stressed that in this regard, the reliable supply for food products for the country’s population has been defined by the President of Azerbaijan as one of the main directions of the economic policy.
PM Asadov also highlighted the measures taken against inflation in Azerbaijan as well as the large-scale state programs to develop the agricultural sector in the country and serious works done to create stocks of basic food products, as a result of which the government manages to provide the population with the necessary food products.
During the session, Azerbaijan expressed its readiness to further develop cooperation and share its experience with partner members of the Eurasian Economic Union in order to ensure food security.
