Andrei Kikot, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and Head of the Service for Citizenship and Registration of Foreign Citizens, has been elected Chairman of the Council of Heads of Migration Bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The decision was made during the 29th meeting of the Council of Heads of Migration Bodies of CIS member states, held Thursday in Baku.
In his remarks, Andrei Kikot emphasized that migration flows can contribute positively to the economic, demographic, and social development of countries, while also posing significant risks.
“In this regard, one of the Council’s key internal tasks is to enhance the effectiveness of the relevant bodies,” he noted.
