On the final day of the 145/146th sessions of the World Customs Organization’s (WCO) Customs Cooperation Council, elections were held to form representation in the organization’s governing structures. Thanks to its activities within the WCO framework and the support of member states’ customs services, Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee has been elected as a member of the WCO Policy Commission.
The Policy Commission is one of the WCO’s key decision-making bodies, playing a vital role in shaping the organization’s high-level strategic documents, defining its long-term policies, and ensuring effective political coordination among member states.
The State Customs Committee’s representation in this significant decision-making body will enable more active and targeted participation in shaping international customs policy while serving as an important platform for promoting innovative initiatives on a global stage.
