The New Azerbaijan Party delegation participated in the meetings of the Business Council and Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties

The delegation led by Tahir Budagov, deputy chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, head of the Central Office, participated in the 2nd meeting of the Business Council and 4st meeting of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, which was hosted by the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand in Bangkok between 27th and 30th of May.On May 27th, the delegation of the New Azerbaijan Party attended the dinner given on behalf of the Convention and Exhibition Bureau of Thailand and the Association of Honorary Consuls.At the opening ceremony of the Business Council meeting held on May 28th with the participation of 22 political parties and 38 business institutions from 19 countries, the new composition of the Bureau of the institution was determined.Tahir Budagov, a member of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, was unanimously elected as a member of the 8-person Bureau consisting of representatives of political parties and the business environment.Later, Sabina Khasayeva a member of the Azerbaijan-Thailand inter-parliamentary relations group of the Youth Union of the New Azerbaijan Party and the Parlament, who spoke at the first plenary session dedicated to “Food security”, noted that increasing armed conflicts in the world and climate change pose serious threats to food and food security on a global scale. She emphasized that Azerbaijan unequivocally recognizes the importance of joint efforts in the fight against climate change, and the fact that our country will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change this year is a confirmation of this. “Despite the fact that its share in global emissions is very small, Azerbaijan is very active in the fight against global climate changes.At the same time, it should be noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan has declared the territories of the country freed from occupation in 2020, Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, a “Green Energy” zone”, – said S. Khasayeva. S. Khasayeva emphasized that the efforts to combat climate change are not only intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit global warming, but also have a positive impact on food security. Ruslan Guliyev, member of the Business Council of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, co-founder and chief executive officer of “Millennium Tourism & Congress DMC”, who spoke in the second plenary session of the meeting called “Promotion of Tourism”, said that tourism is closely related to security and hospitality, and Azerbaijan, which provides a safe tourism environment against the background of the escalation of geopolitical struggles and military conflicts in the world, has created a favorable ground for sustainable peace and security in the entire South Caucasus region by ensuring its territorial integrity in 2020. He also mentioned that in addition to security, Azerbaijan offers tourists a culture of hospitality based on centuries-old traditions of tolerance and multiculturalism of our people and rapidly developing tourism infrastructure. R. Guliyev said that, Azerbaijan, playing the role of a bridge between East and West, Europe and Asia, has been successfully hosting various international political, economic and humanitarian events for many years. He mentioned that in this regard, the hosting of the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in Azerbaijan for the first time among the CIS countries and will bring together tens of thousands of participants from all over the world, will provide new opportunities to the government and businessmen to expand the tourism opportunities of our country, and the rich experience gained from holding the event will give Azerbaijan an impact on the development of the tourism industry in the coming years. R. Guliyev, who also spoke about the wide tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan, specially noted that our country is already recognized as a new tourism destination in the world. At the end of the meeting, the Bangkok statement containing the main content of the discussions was adopted. On the same day, New Azerbaijan Party Deputy Chairman Tahir Budagov also participated in the 41st meeting of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties. At the meeting, the work done by the International Conference of Asian Political Parties in the last 6 months was reviewed, detailed views were exchanged on the current and future activities of the institution. A memorandum of understanding on the exchange of observers between the two organizations was signed by Kwon Hye-seok, Secretary General of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties andGeneral Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization Asef Hajiyev. On May 29th, a visit of the participants to the international food and beverage exhibition “THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2024” held in the capital Bangkok from May 28th to June 1st was organized, the stands were inspected. Later, the participants were given a tour of the Thai parliament building, and the guests were given detailed information about the country’s supreme legislative body. The visit of the delegation ended on May 30th.
