Azerbaijani chess player Read Samadov has become the winner of Master Open 9R event of the Basel Christmas Chess Festival held in Switzerland.
After 9 rounds Weishaeutel Moritz, Peng Li Min and Read Samadov scored 7 points each, but Samadov won the tournament due to the best tie-break.
The tournament brought together 73 chess players from 16 countries.
