The XI Global Baku Forum attracted the attention of the world community

Tokyo, 17 March, /AJMEDIA/

Azerbaijan has rich experience in successfully holding important international events. The city of Shusha, which has already been liberated from occupation, also hosts the events of prestigious international organizations. Recently, our country has organized another important event at a high level. The 11th Global Baku Forum on “Restoring a Fractured World” is in line with leading international forums such as the Davos World Economic Forum and the Munich Security Conference. The fact that the number of forum participants is at a record level also indicates this. More than 400 guests from 68 countries participated in the XI Forum. The presence of more than 40 current and former heads of state and government among the guests testifies to the important importance and enormous intellectual potential of the forum. The potential of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and the fact that the participants are influential political figures make it possible to better understand various important international issues of the discussions held in Baku every year.
President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at the 11th Global Baku Forum on “Restoration of the Fractured World” held in Baku is also the focus of the world community. Some points of the speech of our head of state were specially brought to attention. The speech of President Ilham Aliyev was widely covered by the Russian media. The speech of President Ilham Aliyev was widely covered by the Russian media. Readers were informed of what President Ilham Aliyev said about Azerbaijan’s readiness to continue the peace process after the Karabakh issue is resolved, and that now is the time to end hostilities in the region.
At the same time, Baku Global Forum needs the experience and knowledge of members and participants of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and their experience as heads of state, government and foreign ministers to solve issues of high importance. It is known that in today’s rapidly changing world, centers of instability and conflict are emerging. In this regard, the forum is of great importance. When talking about the changes in our region, it was noted that the main geopolitical change that has occurred since the last meetings here a year ago is the complete restoration of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. The head of our state once again pointed out that for many years we worked to find a peaceful solution to the conflict. Every year before the second Karabakh war, we continued to talk about injustice, occupation, violations of international law, non-compliance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council, because we wanted this issue to be the focus of the international community. The OSCE Minsk Group, which undertook the mission of mediating the conflict, failed to make any progress for 28 years. It became clear to the participants of the forum that the main goal of the Minsk Group was not to settle the conflict, but to freeze it, to make Armenia’s occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s territory eternal. There was another message regularly sent to our country from the world’s leading capitals. This is the lack of a military solution to the conflict. If agreeing to an alternative occupation means agreeing to the presence of a separatist regime in approximately 20 percent of our internationally recognized territories, that is not something we can agree to. Despite all the obstacles, threats and pressures, Azerbaijan resolved the conflict through military and political means. The historic victory over the occupying Armenia actually confirmed that the military option is sometimes used to achieve peace. The head of state also talked about the current situation. He said that now we are closer to peace with Armenia than we have ever been. Peace has never been so close in the history of South Caucasus independence. This is the result of the Second Karabakh War. However, some hypocritical states and international organizations, which still cannot get rid of double standards, create problems for Armenia to sign a peace treaty. For example, France. This country’s attitude to the Second Karabakh War and the anti-terrorist operation was completely inadequate. They tried five times to bring these issues to the UN Security Council and impose sanctions against Azerbaijan. Each of the five attempts failed because other members of the Security Council did not support it. Later, several attempts were made to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan within the framework of the European Union. Those attempts also failed. Most of the European Union countries did not support it. The head of our state also informed about the act of vandalism in France, in the city of Evian, twinned with one of the cities of Azerbaijan. He noted that the statue of the Azerbaijani poet Nateva was vandalized. Regarding stopping this, appeals were made to the French authorities and the mayor’s office of the city of Evian through our embassy in this country and other channels. Because keeping the statue wrapped like this and not even trying to wash off this paint is an act of vandalism. Such situations are unacceptable in a country like France, which often describes itself as a moral leader.
The head of our state also informed about a number of important tasks. Holding COP29 in Azerbaijan is an acknowledgment of Azerbaijan’s efforts regarding the green transition. COP29 will allow us to demonstrate that a country that lives independently and does not depend on anyone can successfully develop. This also demonstrates the correct policy pursued by Azerbaijan in the last 30 years.
