7.7-magnitude quake hits 65 km WNW of Lae, Papua New Guinea

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 jolted 65 km WNW of Lae, Papua New Guinea at 23:46:59 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 79.0 km, was initially determined to be at 6.4 degrees south latitude and 146.5 degrees east longitude.
