Azerbaijan, Pakistan explore post-conflict regional situation

During the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammed Ishaq Dar, AJMEDIA reports citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The ministers deliberated on the robust bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, grounded on mutual trust, solidarity, and respect, along with exploring avenues for collaboration and assessing the current regional dynamics.

Minister Bayramov extended warm congratulations to his counterpart on assuming the role of Foreign Minister and conveyed his best wishes for success in this pivotal position.

Both parties expressed contentment with the ongoing collaboration between their nations, highlighting the significance of high-level visits and comprehensive engagement across various sectors.

They underscored the ample potential for cooperation in economics, transportation, trade, and other sectors between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

During the meeting, Bayramov provided a comprehensive update on the preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), as well as the restoration and reconstruction efforts in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, initiatives in smart city development and green energy, ongoing challenges posed by landmines, and the process of normalizing relations with Armenia.

Additionally, the ministers exchanged perspectives on other regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The discussions took place during the officials’ meeting on the sidelines of the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels.

“The parties exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between the countries in the fields of economics, transport, and communications. At the same time, preparatory work in connection with COP29 was discussed,” the ministry added.

Meanwhile, Bayramov departed on a working visit to Belgium on March 20.

During his visit, he is slated to attend and speak at the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels today.

The inaugural Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels will highlight nuclear energy’s critical role in addressing global concerns such as lowering fossil fuel dependency, enhancing energy security, and promoting economic growth.
