The Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR (BHOS) has hosted the semi-finals of the Republican Subject Olympiad in Informatics.
8/9th graders competed on the first day of the two-day semifinals, while 10/11th graders competed on the second day. A total of about 300 pupils participated in the competitions.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Rector of Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Gasimov wished the participants success, and expressed satisfaction with hosting such a grandiose event at the higher education institution he leads. The rector emphasized that “Informatics is one of the most important academic subjects, and many winners of Olympiads in this subject chose Baku Higher Oil School, which nurtured them as professionals”.
Deputy Director of the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fuad Garayev thanked the leadership of Baku Higher Oil School for providing the venue for the competitions and expressed confidence that many projects would be realized at BHOS in the future.
